Currently Happy Valley consumes 30% more energy than the next highest energy consuming data center among Tangerine Computers’ eleven data centers. Lighting equipment and timers, HVAC optimization, and creation of climate zones will reduce energy consumption by 40% yearly based on past performance of upgrades at other data centers of similar size and capacity. In addition to the reduction of the facility’s energy footprint and operation costs, these renovations are required in order to provide an adequate environment design for all the hardware/devices placed on the data center, to better handle the current daily needs of the data center as well as accommodating for possible future growth.
